How to Help

You Can Help Make a Difference

It is estimated that between 50,000 and 150,000 dogs are abandoned in Spain each year once the hunting season ends. Our mission is to bring as many of these dogs to safety as possible and give them the chance of a new life in loving homes.

The reality is that rescue comes with significant costs. It costs around £180 per month for kennelling in Spain while they wait for homes, approximately £30 for vaccinations, plus additional expenses for disease testing, neutering, and any additional veterinary treatment the dogs may need before they can be rehomed.

On top of this, transport to the UK can cost between £300 and £350 per dog. Adoption fees cover only a small portion of these expenses, which is why we rely so heavily on the generosity and support of our community to continue our work. We try to make this as easy as possible and so that there is something in it for you too.

Monthly Lottery

Regular monthly donations give us stability by helping us understand what funds are coming in, which means we can plan how many dogs we can help each month. It allows us to pay for kennel spaces, commit to ongoing care, and most importantly, know exactly how many dogs we can safely rescue.

To say thank you to our monthly supporters, we run a monthly lottery! So not only are you donating, you’re also getting the chance to win some lovely prizes along the way.

One - Off Donations

One-off donations, no matter the size, make a real and immediate difference to the dogs in our care. Whether it’s helping to cover the cost of vaccinations, contributing towards transport to the UK for a foster dog, or funding vital vet treatment, every single contribution helps us help a dog.

Unlike regular giving, one-off donations allow us to respond quickly when unexpected costs arise, such as emergency vet care or taking in dogs who need urgent help. It also means we can say yes to more dogs when they need us most.

Fundraising & Collaboration

We absolutely love it when people hold their own fundraising events for us. Fundraising is incredibly important, but it also takes up a huge amount of time for the team, and although we are happy to do it, it does take time away from us finding homes for dogs. When supporters take the initiative to run their own events or challenges, it helps us massively and makes a real difference to what we can achieve.
If you are interested in holding a fundraising event, or if you are a business who would like to collaborate, or have questions about fundraising, we would love to hear from you.

Fostering & UK Transport

Although we aim to place dogs straight into forever homes, this isn’t always possible, so foster homes are sometimes needed. Reasons include delayed adoptions, changes in circumstances, dogs struggling in shelters (especially young, older, or unwell dogs), or simply a lack of interest. Fostering is rewarding and a great thing to do to get a dog out of a shelter and it frees up our resources to help more dogs.

If you’ve adopted from us before, please message us to foster. If you’re new, apply here

As a remote based rescue, our adopters and rehomers are spread across the UK. Getting our dogs from foster homes, or their arrival point from Spain, to their new home can sometimes involve some long distances. Professional transport, even within the UK, can be expensive, so volunteer drivers make a huge difference to us.

We regularly put out appeals on our social media, but if you’re a confident driver with some spare time, or someone who frequently travels around the UK and wouldn’t mind helping by giving a TSPP dog a lift along the way, please drop us a message.
