Jay

Jay is a very handsome younger setter given up by a hunter, because he wasn’t wanted for hunting. He is a spectacular setter, and on the larger side of the dogs we help. He can be shy at first if he doesn’t know you, but once he gains confidence he is sweet and affectionate. He is quite calm for a younger setter, and although he loves running round outside, he also likes laying in his bed in his kennel.
Jay is really good with the other dogs he has met at the shelter, both male and female. He comes running in the shelter when he’s called but this will likely be different out on a walk!
Jay can be cat tested for the right home, and can live with older children who will give him space while he builds up his confidence.
