Uros

D.O.B: 02/01/2021

Uros is a very handsome Weimaraner with a slightly different background to many of the dogs we help. He was surrendered by a private owner rather than a hunter, so he is already used to living in a home environment. He is an elegant, athletic and energetic boy who loves nothing more than running around the enclosure with his kennel mate. Uros has spent most of his life as an only dog, so he could happily continue living that way. He may also be able to live with female dogs, although he can be a little unsure around males. Around the shelter, he comes running when he hears his name, but he will need some more recall training before he can safely enjoy exciting off lead walks.

He can be a little shy and unsure when meeting new people, so he would be best suited to a quieter home without young children, where he can settle in at his own pace. He is very affectionate with people once he knows them though. He can be quite anxious around meal times at the shelter, so would enjoy a quiet interrupted space to eat in his home. Dogs who are used to living in homes often find shelter life particularly difficult. It can be noisy and overwhelming, with lots of other dogs around and very little one to one attention from people. Uros has been in the shelter for a while now, and we would really love to see him back in the home environment he knows and deserves.
