Oki

Oki, affectionately known as Oski in Spain, was left tied to a vehicle by his hunter in the Basque Country at the grand age of 14. He’s now safely at our kennels in Northern Spain thanks to kind donations which allowed us to help him. Sadly this isn’t a unique situation as dogs get too old to hunt, Oki is one of the lucky ones who has been given the opportunity to find a home as often hunters get rid of the dogs by other means. He’s a very good natured boy, very sociable with all the dogs at the shelter and is very loving with people, despite not being shown much love back in his life. Sadly, Oki hasn’t received much care in his life and he arrived very matted, so has had to have a lot of fur removed and he’s also due some dental work which will be done before he travels. We also believe he can’t see or hear very well but he copes very well. He’s still active despite his age and likes to go outside at the shelter with his friends. He’s got a good appetite and being an older dog, also likes to snooze on his bed and has been given a posh blanket to help him feel a bit more comfortable. Oki is really in need of a loving, caring home to rest his head, be shown some love and enjoy the rest of his life, however long that may be for.
