Cookie

Cookie is our longest standing resident at the shelter now, having arrived with his companion, Floss, who travels to her new home in February. Cookie is a handsome young setter and both dogs arrived at the shelter very scared and shut down. Floss has flourished at the shelter and her confidence has really grown but poor Cookie is still struggling and really needs a home to help him make progress. .
Cookie takes a lot of confidence in other dogs, he goes straight to them for comfort and sticks by them whenever he can. He likes all the dogs at the shelter but would do best with a calm resident dog who doesn’t mind another dog by their side while Cookie gains confidence. During our trip to Spain, Cookie was more confident in his kennel than out of it but would let us gently stroke him and gained confidence with us in a short amount of time. He managed to come on a short walk with the help of Nahi and Ali to help guide the way.
Cookie needs a quiet adult only home with a confident resident dog to show him the ropes and adopters that are happy to take things at Cookie’s pace while he learns that the world isn’t such a scary place. He has been cat tested but would do best in a child free home.
