Fly

D.O.B: 02/09/2021

Fly is currently in foster in Bedfordshire.

Fly was found abandoned on the street alongside Howie, a griffon. Both were taken to the pound, where they spent an entire year waiting for someone to collect them. Thankfully, one of the wonderful shelters we work with stepped in, giving them a much better environment than the pound and a greater chance of finding a loving home.

Fly is a beautiful Podenco, a breed very common in Spain but not often seen in the UK. He is a happy, sociable, playful, and affectionate dog, especially with people, including children. Fly is a lovely lad who can take a bit of time to settle but would enjoy plenty of adventures with the right family and has already been a brilliant poster boy for the shelter in Spain at local fundraising events, happily snoozing in amongst lots of people. Unlike some of the dogs we help, Fly has very promising recall in sensible areas and he loves checking in with his foster mum to make sure she’s still there as he adores humans. He loves being outside and while he took a little time to adjust to being in a home, his confidence outside is much better. He’s also done really well with his housetraining and although this might take a step back with a move, he’s a clever cookie who picks things up quickly. He travels well in the car and is confident enough to be an only dog if his adopters are home most of the time.
