Bico

D.O.B: 21/06/2021

Bico is a medium sized Podenco mix, around 18kg and is a very special lad with a gentle soul!

Bico comes from a tiny village in Galicia. His owner died of cancer and poor Bico and his buddy were abandoned with nobody left to care for them other than a family member who would come and feed them occasionally. The family of the owner didn’t want to take on the dogs and were either going to put them both to sleep or hire somebody to hunt them down, something that doesn’t even bare thinking about! We think he lived in pretty grim conditions outside for most of his life but thankfully a wonderful couple found out about him and have been fostering him for almost 7 months now but sadly he’s not managed to find his own home yet.

Despite his difficult past, Bico has grown into a loving, curious and intelligent boy. He’s very good with people and loves to be around them. He would be a great companion as an only dog or could live with a female dog as well like in his foster home.

Bico’s ideal home would be a more rural setting as busy places with lots of noise can unsettle him. He loves being outdoors in the countryside and would really thrive in this environment with active adopters. He’s house trained and used to a normal home routine, including being left alone for short periods of time. He responds very well to training and while these things may take a step back with a change in homes, he’s very keen to learn

Bico has one missing eye but his limited sight does not affect him and he lives a full and happy life, if a tiny bit clumsier at times! He has a clean bill of health from the vets and is now looking for a kind family to make his world complete.
