Marshall

D.O.B: 04/06/2024
UPDATE
Marshall is currently in foster in Essex, and has grown in confidence massively since he first arrived at the shelter. He is a typical young setter pup, playful and full of beans! Marshall loves other dogs, and he gets a lot of confidence from the dogs he is living with. He has also been to a local doggy day-care and made lots of friends there too. He loves nothing more than cuddling, playing and having a good run around the garden. Marshall is also extremely food motivated, which comes in handy for training. Everyone who meets Marshall has instantly fallen in love with him! He has done really well getting used to everything that comes with living in a house, and his toilet training is coming along nicely (even if he doesn’t like going out in the rain!)
Marshall moves with a bit of a bunny hop on his back legs so has had new x-rays done in the UK which show he has hip dysplasia, although to look at his happy smiley face you would never know anything is wrong! He is currently on pain medication to manage this but if he later needs surgery on hip TSPP will support the adopters where necessary.

Marshall is a young boy from a hunter who wanted rid of him. The hunter told us he was 7 months old and had no name. When he arrived at the shelter, he was absolutely terrified, skinny and looked like he was struggling with his back legs. We didn’t have to think for long what to call this special chap, he was named Marshall after one of our very kind and generous supporters. He has had x-rays at the vets which show that although one hip isn’t perfect, it’s not cause for concern and the other hip is fine so with a good diet and gaining some muscle mass, he should be looking better very soon! Looking at the x-rays, the vet also thinks he is closer to 11 months old so Marshall’s DOB is an estimate. Marshall arrived at the shelter with many fears and was clearly not socialised or used to being around humans, but. he’s improved a lot in the short time he’s been there and is now a lot more confident thanks to his kennel buddies showing him the ropes. He’s gaining strength in his back legs now he’s on a better diet and getting to run and build muscle. Marshall is looking for a family with a resident dog to help his confidence continue to grow. He’d suit a home with no young children best with adopters who can take things at his own space and show him the world doesn’t have to be so scary. Marshall is very young and has all the time in the world to gain confidence and become the amazing dog we know he is under all that fear!
