Roma

D.O.B: 15/07/2018

Roma is a beautiful 8-year-old Sabueso, a Spanish Hound dog. She was initially rehomed from Spain in 2020 and has lived in the UK since then. Sadly, her adopter recently had to make the heartbreaking decision to rehome her after losing her home. Her adopter was keen for people to know that this decision was heartbreaking for her, and it is not Roma’s fault at all.

Roma recently moved to a wonderful foster family in Cumbria and she is settling in beautifully. Her foster home gave the following description:
Roma is a gentle, calm, and easy-going girl with a naturally happy temperament and a soft, waggy greeting for everyone she meets. Roma is sociable with all dogs and friendly with people. She enjoys saying hello, is polite in her interactions, and has a relaxed, steady nature. She is fully toilet trained, travels well in the car, and can be left alone in the house for a couple of hours without stress or any issues. Roma walks nicely on the lead and enjoys her outings, but she doesn’t appear to need a large amount of exercise – she’s content with gentle, steady walks and then relaxing at home.

In the house, Roma is calm and placid, making her very easy to live with. She has an independent streak, happily snoozing or pottering around, but she also enjoys gentle strokes and affection. She is always pleased to see people and greets them with her signature waggy tail. Overall, Roma is a gentle, happy, and well‑mannered hound who fits easily into everyday life.

Roma had cherry eye when she was in Spain, which was successfully operated on in Spain and also arrived with some old wounds on her legs which don’t bother her at all but have affected the fur growth in those areas, although they’ve improved a lot over time.

Roma can live with other dogs very happily and also has experience living with children in her last home. She has lived with cats but they tended to live in separate parts of the house by choice so careful intros should be done if she was to be integrated with cats in the future.
