Sky
D.O.B: 02/09/2020
Rescued from a hunter in Spain, Sky arrived at the shelter frightened and unsure whether people could be trusted. In November 2025, one of our wonderful foster homes in Essex opened their doors to her, giving her the chance to discover that life could be very different.
And what a difference it has made!
Sky has gradually come out of her shell, and her foster family has watched her confidence grow. She is now a loving girl who, once she feels safe, shows a softer, affectionate and more playful side that makes all the patience worthwhile.
Sky absolutely loves the company of other dogs. She currently lives alongside several resident dogs which has helped her learn to relax, play and enjoy life. One of her favourite games is playing tag with the resident English Setter. She used to be the one being chased, but now she happily takes on the role of chaser herself!
Sky is still a sensitive girl who can be nervous around new people and unfamiliar situations. She needs time to work things out at her own pace, without pressure or too many expectations. But once she trusts you, her affectionate nature shines through. She enjoys gentle fuss and will sneakily inch closer for a cuddle. When she feels completely comfortable, she may even flop onto her back for a tummy rub!
Sky needs a calm, kind and understanding home with people who will give her the time and space she needs to settle in and build a bond. She may not be the dog who rushes up to greet visitors, but the relationship she develops with her chosen people will be all the more special for it.
A confident, friendly resident dog is essential for Sky. Having a doggy friend helps her feel secure and gives her the reassurance she needs to continue growing in confidence.
Sky has already made so much progress. Now she needs someone to see the wonderful dog she is becoming and help her take the next steps. In return, they would gain an incredibly loving and loyal companion.
Please note: Although this dog is currently in UK foster, they originated from Spain, so the Spanish adoption fee applies.
