Thor

D.O.B: 24/05/2017

Update: Thor is currently enjoying life in a loving foster home in Malvern, thanks to one of our long-time adopters and supporters who kindly offered him a cosy place to stay while he waits for his forever family. This handsome boy is truly something special. While it took him a few weeks to settle in, Thor has now found his stride and is beginning to show his playful side and play in the garden with the other dogs and toys.

Thor absolutely adores human company and thrives on affection, so he’d be happiest in a home where someone is around most of the time. Unlike many working setters, Thor is more of a laid-back lad. He enjoys his walks but prefers a gentle amble over an energetic run (though this may change as he gains confidence and fitness). He’s still a bit unsure around traffic and new environments, but he’s making steady progress, including taking short car trips. Thor will need a patient and understanding home willing to go at his pace, helping him build trust and feel secure.

Thor is a wonderful dog, who was given up as his hunter said he was too old. At first he can be quite shy with new people but soon warms up and is very affectionate. Thor gets on well with all the male and female dogs at the shelter, particularly with the two he is sharing a kennel with. The three of them all live together with no problems and share their food at meal times. At the moment he loves laying in his bed in his kennel, we would love to see him get a sofa and a much more comfortable dog bed of his own!
