Life has been tough for Txiru. He has spent over a year living in a shelter, so it’s no surprise that he finds the world a frightening place. Despite everything he has been through, he remains a sweet, gentle boy who simply needs time, patience and understanding to discover that life can be safe and happy.
Txiru loves the company of other dogs and would benefit from being in a home with a calm, confident canine companion to help show him the way. He takes great comfort from other dogs and they give him reassurance when things feel overwhelming.
People, however, are a different story. Txiru is wary of strangers and needs plenty of time to build trust. If he feels worried or overwhelmed, his instinct is simply to run away or find somewhere to hide. Because of this, he will need a secure home and garden, careful introductions to new situations, and adopters who understand that trust cannot be rushed and will give him time and patience.
Txiru isn’t looking for an adventurous lifestyle or a busy household. What he needs is somewhere calm and peaceful, where he can finally relax and begin to enjoy being a dog.
