Cholo
D.O.B: 14/06/2016
Cholo is in foster in Northumberland, He is a lovely older boy who was given up by his hunter when he became too old. This is all too common for older setters, dogs who have given years of loyalty to their hunters, only to be cast aside when they are no longer wanted. But we’re hopeful that this will be the best thing to happen to Cholo, and that his retirement years will be filled with the love and comfort he has always deserved.
Cholo is a larger setter with a calm, balanced nature and his true character is really coming out in his foster home, making us all fall in love with him and his silly ways! Cholo arrived a bit sore from his journey but after a few days of TLC from his foster home, his joints are already doing better and he’s enjoying his walks. He doesn’t pull on his lead and loves a leisurely plod around and has already enjoyed plenty of trips out, including to the beach.
Cholo is the type of dog that you can’t not smile at. He has wonderful droopy chips that he lets fall around his water bowl as he takes a drink, and watching him learn to come downstairs for the first time in his life is a bit like watching Bambi on ice. It’s impossible not to fall in love with this older lad!
Cholo currently lives with a resident dog but could also live on his own in a new home.
Please note: Although this dog is currently in UK foster, they originated from Spain, so the Spanish adoption fee applies.
