Nuca
D.O.B: 15/08/2012
Nuca is one of 33 Brittanys that were kept together on a piece of land and used for hunting and showing. The land they lived on was being sold and one of the shelters we work with was quick to step in and get as many of the dogs out as they could before they ended up with other hunters. They managed to get 17 of the dogs, which are being sponsored across three different organisations. Xira, Xara and Nuca all went to the same shelter that helped to get all of the dogs to safety.
Nuca is a cheerful, gentle dog who is very affectionate with everyone she meets, including children. She gets along well with other dogs, so she could live with other dogs or as an only dog. She is very calm and enjoys spending her days relaxing, sleeping and going for little explores around the shelter. When she first arrived at the shelter, she had a problem with her right eye and the vets felt the best thing was to remove that eye. One eyed dogs can lead just as happy lives as dogs with both eyes, as Nuca is no exception.
The ladies at Nuca’s shelter have said they know it might be virtually impossible to find a home for a one eyed dog at Nuca’s age but they are hoping for a miracle for her. It would mean the world to us all if Nuca got to spend her retirement days learning what it is to be a dog in a loving home.
